St Edward's Singers

The St Edward's Singers is a large choir made up of current and former parents of pupils at St Edward's, as well as friends of the School, teachers, and also those from the wider community.

We do two performances a year – one in October and one in May.

Rehearsals are generally held on Friday evenings in the St Edward’s School Hall 7.30 – 9.00; music and refreshments are provided.

Following a successful performance of Tippett’s ‘A Child of our Time’ on 16th May, the St Edward’s Singers’ are looking forward to their next performance on Sunday 17th October.
 
Plans are being made for an ‘Elgar Weekend’ on the 16th and 17th October with a lecture from leading Elgar authority Anthony Payne and a showing of Ken Russell’s 1962 film ‘Elgar’ as well as performances of Elgar’s music.

The St Edward’s Singers will be performing Elgar’s ‘The Spirit of England on the Sunday evening as part of the festival.

Rehearsals begin on Friday 10th September 7.30 - 9.00 in the School Hall. They continue on Friday 17th September, Friday 24th September, Thursday 30th September, Friday 8th October and Friday 15th October.
 
All are welcome to sing.
