Last
year Grace Hadman tragically died in a road
accident. In September 2009, the A Level Art
students from Grace’s year held an Exhibition in
the North Wall in her memory. ‘Grace’s Print’
took pride of place in the exhibition. The
proceeds of the sales of the print and a
percentage of the sales of the leaver’s artwork
went to two charities, chosen by the Hadman
family, details of which are included below.
Please visit her website for further information

The Charities
African Children’s Fund (www.africanchildrensfund.org
)
Shortly before Grace died, she held a 24 hour
fast to raise money for food for the 200 orphans
in Zimbabwe supported by Henry Chitsenga. Henry
was Grace’s maths teacher at Teddies and he had
already told the children about Grace. When she
died, they were devastated and held a one minute
silence for her. We feel that Grace would very
much wish to support these children by helping
to provide cooking utensils and food.
Building
Futures in Malawi (www.buildingfuturesinmalawi.co.uk/about-us.html)
Grace was especially keen
to support small charities and this one builds
schools and sports facilities, and provides
libraries for children in Malawi. Tom Bowden, a
university flatmate of Grace’s brother Jasper,
is the project manager. Every penny given is
used for the projects. Tom has planted a row of
Jacaranda trees in Grace’s memory and has
pledged to build a netball court in her name.
