Geography Trip to Wytham Woods

The Upper 6th A level Geographers visited Wytham Wood on Wednesday 27th January as part of their Physical Geography topic on Ecosystems.

Despite the cold, rather damp conditions, they learnt a lot about the functioning of the deciduous woodland ecosystem and about the extensive ecological research that has been carried out at Wytham in the last few decades.

We saw a badger set and learnt about deer populations and Great Tit life cycles.

The Conservator of Wytham Woods, Dr Nigel Fisher, gave us a real insight into management of this local area.
