Creative talent to spot and watch:

For a chance to enjoy and even buy fantastic new art by St Edward’s A-Level artists, make sure you visit Emerging Talent 2010 at the North Wall Arts Centre.

Very few schools mount professional exhibitions of final-year art work in this way, and St Edward’s is proud to be showcasing our incredibly talented young artists in an exhibition open to the general public.

The pupils are exhibiting and selling their art partly to learn what’s involved in mounting and promoting an exhibition, but also to raise funds for gap year projects, university and charities.

The exhibition is open on Sunday 11th July, 2 – 4pm, and from Monday 12th – Friday 16th July, 11am - 4pm.

Following a successful performance of Tippett’s ‘A Child of our Time’ on 16th May, the St Edward’s Singers are looking forward to their next performance on Sunday 17th October.
Plans are being made for an ‘Elgar Weekend’ on the 16th and 17th October with a lecture from leading Elgar authority Anthony Payne and a showing of Ken Russell’s 1962 film ‘Elgar’ as well as performances of Elgar’s music. The St Edward’s Singers will be performing Elgar’s ‘The Spirit of Englandon the Sunday evening as part of the festival.
Rehearsals begin on Friday 10th September 7.30 - 9.00 in the School Hall. They continue on Friday 17th September, Friday 24th September, Thursday 30th September, Friday 8th October and Friday 15th October.
All are welcome to sing. Music and refreshments are provided. For further information click here.
