The St Edwards Catering team takes pride in providing
varied, nutritious and appealing meals for the school
community. The scope of our operation is large: we prepare
up to two thousand meals each day for students and staff,
as well as catering for a range of special events throughout
the year.
As any parent of teenagers will know, 13 18 year
olds are a demanding group, and we consult students regularly
on the menus we provide. As a boarding school we have
an additional responsibility to provide growing children
with a balanced diet, and to ensure that each of the four
mealtimes every day is an enjoyable experience. We run
our menus over a three-weekly cycle to ensure variety.
Over recent years we have also reorganised and refurbished
the school dining room which is now a welcoming and inclusive
environment.
To support the catering team in their endeavours the
School employs a professional catering consultancy.
They advise on the compilation of nutritious and balanced
menus, on health, hygiene and food safety matters and
on procurement. With this support we are able to source
fresh wholesome ingredients. Proper preparation, traditional
cooking techniques and presentation methods also ensure
that high quality fresh food is produced in a hygienic
and safe environment.

to drop in and see us whenever you can, so that you can
see catering at work, view and sample the food on offer
and talk with the catering team on duty. Should you wish
to do so, please report to the Catering Office, off South
Parade, and we will be happy to show you round.
