Admissions Process

The first thing we would suggest is that, wherever possible, you come and visit St Edward's on a normal working day. We have Mini Open Mornings for about twelve families on most Saturday mornings and on some Thursday mornings during term time. During the morning you would have the opportunity to look around the School with one of our pupils, visit a boarding house and meet the Housemaster or Mistress before an informal meeting and coffee with the Warden.
Please contact the Registrar if you would like to either come to a Mini Open Morning or have an individual appointment.

1) If you wish to place your child on the entry list for Admission, please contact the Registrar or download and return the Registration Form with the £75 registration fee which is non-refundable. This secures a provisional place on the School lists and ensures that your child will be considered for a Guaranteed Place. At this stage no guarantee can be given that there will be a vacancy.

2) 20 months prior to the proposed date of entry, a Final Acceptance Form will be sent to you by the Registrar, if we are able to offer your child a Guaranteed Place. The Guarantee Fee, currently £800, (overseas £1500), is payable, and a proportion is refunded when your child leaves the School. At this stage your child has a Guaranteed Place, generally in a specific House, subject to meeting our requirements at Common Entrance, or Scholarship and a satisfactory report from his or her school. The Guarantee Fee will only be refunded if your child fails to reach the required standard in the entrance examinations, or if he or she is withdrawn on medical grounds.

3) If you register within the 20 months of the proposed date of admission, a Guaranteed Place will be offered as soon as possible. Please discuss this when you see the Warden or the Registrar.
