Debating is currently divided between Seniors (Fifth form
and above) and Juniors (Shells and Fourths).
Senior debates occur weekly in the Autumn and Spring
Terms. We also enter competitions run by the Oxford
Union Society, Cambridge Union Society, the English
Speaking Union and the Rotary Club.
Junior debating is centred on an inter-house competition,
running from January to May, in which each House enters
a team of three from the Shells and Fourths. Active participation
by all members of these year groups is encouraged. A Junior
team also enters competitions run by the English Speaking
Union and the Rotary Club.
