Conservation

Where: Near Esporta
When: Monday Afternoons as advised.
Contact: Mr Abigail for further details.

Our main sphere of activity is the Water Garden, between Esporta and the Oxford Canal, where we are trying to establish a small wetland nature reserve. The work is physical, so you will get muddy and tired. Hopefully however, you will feel the satisfaction derived from creating better habitats for creatures such as water voles, newts, and a wide variety of birds, and from improving access to allow observation of these species.

Other projects will include the making and installation of bird nest boxes and bat roosting boxes, and the creation of a data-base of the many tree species to be found in the School grounds.

The more committed may involve themselves with concervation volunteers in Oxford, or visit other official nature reserves in the country.
